As per statement from Mrs. Sylvesta Purifoy Snow(Aunt Bessie)...her father was
raised by an "old man Walter Snow". Aunt Bessie says she never knew
Jim Purifoy, alleged to be her grandfather. Poppa(Mack Sr) had a big farm in
Tyler, Alabama. He would do business with a white man named "Jim Minter"
who would wipe his "behind" with the receipt Poppa would bring him
to s how payment for goods. Poppa would soon leave with his children if someone
did not treat them right.
First to come to Detroit, MI was Poppa son, Jimmie Puri foy, and then followed
the rest of the family to 4166 19th Street, Ecorse, MI 48229 where Poppa and
Grandma Mary ran something like a boarding house to oth ers that came in from
